"This one belonged to a sixteen-year-old long_distance swimmer, high school kid. Lean and mean.Drowned when he hit his head on the side of a swimming pool. That heart'll set you back a hundred and fifty thousand!"

"Okay,,"said the old man, "what about third heart?"

"Well, that one belonged to a fifty-eight-year-old man who smoked three packs of cigarettes a day, weighed over three hundred pounds, never excersized, drank like a fish.

That heart is going for five-hundred thousand!"

"Five hundred grand?!" the old man exclaimed,

"Why so expencive?"

"Well," said the doctor, "this heart belonged to a lawyer......so it was never used!"

◇アメリカンジョークの和訳◇

「16歳の長距離水泳選手の高校生の心臓です。痩せていて、そして憐れだ。プールの壁に頭を打って溺れてしまったんだ。その心臓は15万ドルだ。」

「わかった」老人は「3つ目の心臓はどうなんだね？」と聞いた。

「3つ目は58歳の男性で、1日に3箱も煙草を吸い300ポンド(150キロ)以上も体重があって、運動も一度もしないし、酒を浴びるように飲んでいたんだ。この心臓は50万ドルになるだろうね！」

「50万ドル？！どうしてそんなに高いんだ？」老人は驚いた。

医者は「この心臓は弁護士の心臓、だから一度も使われていないからですよ！」
